If skincare were categorised into the various types of alcohol then serum would be wine, SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic* being an expensive, fine wine. For those of us who’ve spent summers laying in the sun, wearing minimal SPF protection (guilty as charged, I wanted a tan) then this bad boy offers some redemption. I’ve been heard raving about SkinCeuticals before. Reason being….. If you want to correct or prevent any damage to your skin then this brand has got you covered. C E Ferulic contains a synergistic blend of 15% pure Vitamin C (l-ascorbic acid), 1% vitamin E (alpha tocopherol) and 0.5% ferulic acid to strengthen skin’s natural protection from free radicals induced by environmental stressors such as UVA/UVB, infrared radiation (IRA), and pollution, which may lead to visible signs of accelerated skin aging. I’ve been using this for about a week, every other morning. Four drops is enough when applied to slightly damp, freshly washed skin, I follow up with moisuriser and my SPF 50. This serum is lightweight and disappears into the skin instantly and providing you don’t apply more than 4-5 drops it shouldn’t leave any stickiness which is common with topical vitamin C. It’s deeply hydrating so unless you have dry skin then you may get away with just some SPF on top.
Another new skincare discovery is John Masters Organics, rose and aloe hydrating toning mist.* My skin tends to be dry and sensitive (lucky me) so I’m always on the lookout for products with the ability to calm my skin. This is a gentle spritz containing essential oil of rose, oat kernal, aloe vera juice and white tea extract. Naturally, it smells amaze so I like to spritz a bit on my face, scalp and arms in the evenings. If you like to tone as part of your skincare routine then I recommend you give it a try.
