Skincare for the city…

It’s currently Sunday morning and I’m packing for tomorrow’s trip to London. I just put together the skincare products I’m taking and thought I’d share them with you. When I’m traveling I try to keep things to a minimum but it still ends up being more than I’d like. It currently stands at five products. When I arrive I plan to purchase a new antioxidant as I ran out of The Ordinary EUK 134. Even though I like this I won’t be purchasing it again this time. Because of the natural pigment in this it strained my transparent glasses where they sit on the bridge of my nose. Instead I have my eye on The Ordinary Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic acid 3%, I just need to check that it’s transparent in colour. Because of the city pollution I’m going to be needing it! View Post

evening skincare routine

First step cleanse…

Cleansing is the nicest part of my evening skincare routine, it’s like taking my shoes off after a long day. For a while I tried the whole double cleanse malarky but my skin doesn’t usually need it. I’m still using Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser and I bloody love it. That rose/plastic-y smell is so addictive that my other cleansers are gathering dust in the corner. If my skin is feeling particularly filthy or congested I will add a second cleanse in the shower. I like NIOD Sanskrit Saponins. It just sucks up any dirt like a hoover. View Post

Tata Harper Clarifying Moisturiser and Mask Review

Every skin type needs a deeper clean from time to time…

Whether you have spot prone or dehydrated skin I’m guessing it needs some unclogging now and then. Throughout the year my skin falls under the dehydrated category. In the summer it’s less compared with Winter when it’s thirsty as hell. But regardless of which time of year it is my skin still needs some detoxing. I’ve been testing out the Tata Harper clarifying range and I’ve got the low down for you. Tata Harper is a high end line of natural skincare products. Everything is made using ingredients harvested on Tata’s farm in Vermont. View Post

tata harper resurfacing mask review

tata harper resurfacing mask review

My go hard or go home approach to exfoliation needs to come down a notch now that Summer’s on it’s way. Regular acid peels are great, not only for removing dead skin but also by keeping it in a constant state of repair which promotes younger looking skin. You know it! Before the last 12 months I only used SPF on holiday or if I were sunbathing, now I wear it every day. Even with an SPF 30 or higher, I wouldn’t sit in the sun whilst using certain exfoliators for fear of damaging my skin.

Now that the Summer season is approaching I want to enjoy whatever warm weather we end up having in Germany without irritating my skin. This leads me to my latest skincare discovery which is from the US ‘all-natural’ brand Tata Harper.

I’ve started using the Resurfacing Mask which is 100% natural and nontoxic. Even during the Summer months it’s important to keep skin gently exfoliated, otherwise we run the risk of an uneven tan *starts screaming*. This little pot of gold gets the job gently done which is exactly what I’d hoped for. It has a gel consistency and smells fresh and slightly florally and dries on the skin with a cling film like feeling – I leave it on for the recommended 30 minutes.

Whilst this is all-natural it definitely makes a difference when using it 1-2 times a week and it didn’t cause any redness on my skin. It also contains French Pink Clay (very posh) which helps detoxify the skin and minimize pores. It’s worth noting that this contains some potentially irritating essential oils so I’d consider this if you are sensitive to these types ingredients. The packaging is a bit madam for my personal taste but I wanted to try this brand anyway as I’ve heard many great reports. Having used this I’d like to try some other products from the range soon.
