When you don’t happen to live next to the ocean or a fragrant meadow you can still have a home that encapsulates the spirit of summer. Simply invest in a good quality fragranced candle that will last you for the entire season.

London is so much fun that it doesn’t really matter where you stay. There is so much to see that visitors will no doubt only need somewhere to rest their head at night. However, there is an amazing selection of hotels in the capital – something for every taste. I’ve put together a list of my personal favourites that are either a little quirky or offer something truly special.

BLAKES HOTEL Is in the heart of Chelsea, away from the hustle and bustle and tourist traps of central London this is still definitely a hot location. The decor is exotic and rich with rooms so decadent they resemble a movie set.

SHANGRI LA AT THE SHARD This isn’t my favourite decor. But the views of London from anywhere in this hotel are unbeatable and luxury is guaranteed.

SHOREDITCH HOUSE The rooms are cute but tiny. Access to Shoreditch House (part of the Soho House group) makes it all worth while as you have access to the rooftop pool and a selection of bars and restaurants. Plus it’s located in super cool East London.

ACE HOTEL SHOREDITCH Located in the heart of the area on Shoreditch Highstreet you won’t be dissapointed by the vibe of this place. It’s a super cool hangout with a great restaurant and bar plus the rooms are really nice. Perfect if you are looking to head out on an alternative East London weekender.

HAM YARD HOTEL The list wouldn’t be complete without somewhere in Soho. The location is super central and this part of the city carries so much soul. Ham Yard Hotel has it all, from a rooftop bar and fine dining restaurant to a library for afternoon tea.

Whoever said only women can multi-task is wrong. I can successfully order a pizza whilst gulping down a gin and tonic – no problem. A Friday evening with friends, spent outdoors catching up and sharing stories from the good old days. Drinking a cocktail, eating tasty food, watching the sun go down. Not a bad start to the weekend right?! Thanks to my smart new watch from Lilienthal Berlin I’m confident I won’t arrive too late for Friday evening drinks. This model is the L1 limited edition which comes with interchangeable straps in navy blue and brown. It’s a classic piece that goes with everything.

I started this weekend feeling exhausted and as it’s moved along I’m feeling better and better. I’d even go so far as to say it’s almost been a perfect weekend – and it’s not over yet. I’ve managed to get some much needed r&r whilst getting some extra work done and enjoying this amazing weather.

A couple weeks ago I received a great backpack from British brand Forbes & Lewis. I got to choose the style beforehand and I’m really pleased with it. It hit’s the balance between classic and casual which fit’s my style perfectly plus it’s nice and big allowing me to fit everything I need inside. It’s great for taking a packed lunch on hiking trips and I plan to take it with me to London next month.

Whilst I appreciate what I have there are still so many things I want in life. These days I’m less into partying and more into staying at home, either to have friends over for dinner and drinks or to veg out on the sofa with a good book or a nice movie. My ideal home is an aesthetically pleasing sanctuary, containing all my favourite home comforts. With this in mind I’ve put together a wish list of things I want for my home.

The Food Processor. Who doesn’t love food? My weekends are all about the food and I like to try out new recipe’s that are sometimes healthy and sometimes not. My dream Magimix food processor would make the prep so much easier, and fun.

The Television. A large and sleek TV that looks like a picture frame would compliment my Netflix account nicely. The Ultra HD TV Panasonic was tuned by filmmakers, if it’s good enough for them then it’s definitely on my wish list.

The Art. Yayoi Kusama is one of my favourite Artists. I’m not sure if I will ever own an original piece but Artsy are selling a limited edition screen print. At £14,500 this is still out of my price range but I can still dream, right?!

The Candle. The smell of a good quality scented candle makes all the difference to a home and candle light creates such a cozy atmosphere. This one by Cire Trudon is way out of the ordinary.

The Sofa. This bad boy from MADE.COM is large enough to lay down on and looks super cool to boot. Santa pleeeeeease.

The Blanket. Snuggling up on the sofa wouldn’t be complete without a nice soft blanket. This one from Hermès would be the ultimate luxury.

I decided to stop at six items but believe me, the list could go on and on. If you have any items you think I could add to the list then leave a comment or tweet me.
