Products for dehydrated skin showing first signs of ageing.
I featured a bunch of new products in The Big Skincare Post. It was a first impressions and now I’d like to introduce some of the products in my morning skincare routine.
First up cleanse…
When my skin is dehydrated I like to create thin layers of hydration using different products. On days when my skin is particularly thirsty I use Grown Alchemist Hydra Restore Cream Cleanser which is nice and rich. The combination of natural ingredients in a cream texture is perfect for a face massage. I spend about a minute working this into my skin sweeping from the center out. Afterwards I take it off with a flannel (wash cloth) and give my face a final rinse.
First I gently apply 111 Skin Bright Eye Lift Gel around my eyes. It contains peptides, niacinamide, vitamins B & E plus caffeine. The lightweight gel is a perfect texture for an eye product and the boost of caffeine takes down puffiness whilst the other ingredients hydrate and plump fine lines.
Next I apply The Ordinary Matrixyl 10% + HA all over my face and neck. This is a water based serum containing a high strength peptide (good for wrinkles) and hyaluronic acid (good for hydration).
The Ordinary EUK 134 0.1% is a great antioxidant serum. It has a slightly oily texture which adds another layer of moisture. Antioxidants scavenge free radicals caused by pollution, poor diet or last weekends partying! It’s basically a bowl of vegetables for your face.
To finish off I apply a thin layer of moisturiser or a couple drops of face oil depending on how my skin is feeling. When it’s drier I go with oil otherwise some moisturiser is enough. I always finish off with an SPF and I’m currently using Clinique Mineral Sunscreen Fluid in SPF 50.
