JANUARY HIGHLIGHTS

Who said it’s the January blues???

Thank god it’s almost February. With each day that passes we are that little bit closer to Spring. I always find myself wishing this part of the year away which probably isn’t a good thing. But what can I say? I’m not a fan of the cold! The time has flown by though. It seems like only yesterday I was stuffing my face with Christmas dinner. But I suppose time fly’s when it’s busy. And despite the winter weather January has been a good month for me. Definitely no blues to report so far this year.

Working with my boyfriend. It’s been a journey for Christian and I. Since leaving London and moving to Germany we have encountered our fair share of struggles – that’s for sure! Living in a foreign country and starting a company together brought it’s challenges. We have managed to stay strong throughout the ups and downs. And recently things are really coming along and our hard work seems to be paying off. It was difficult starting a brand together with minimal experience. Team work isn’t my strength (hello I’m Aries) and defining our roles wasn’t easy. Now we are finding our place as business partners which makes both of us so happy. This of course has a knock on effect for our relationship. All in all things are good.

Creating balance in my career. I mentioned in a recent blog post that I juggle three careers. There’s the blog, managing intensae with Christian and working in London as a hair colourist. It took some work to make all three happen and I love it so much. It suits me perfectly to go my different jobs. Each career is so different but each of them are creative and I never get bored.

Spending time with friends. Let’s just say that last year I had a friends edit. I was in a space where I put things in place to work towards the future I want. With this I found myself questioning some of the people in my life. And quite organically I distanced myself from a few friendships. In one or two cases it was a painful decision but even after some reflection it was the right thing to do. It actually freed up space to focus on the amazing friends who bring joy to my life. Most of these friends are in London. So now that I’m back each month for work I get to spend more time with them.
