mens hair products for fine hair

No more bad hair days…

The first hair product I started using was gel. I remember having it cut after school and sitting mesmerised, staring at the huge tubs of green or blue goop. At that time my hair styles were as you would expect…. An absolute nightmare. There was the French crop which I covered in concrete hold gel so the fringe dried into crispy looking spiders legs.

Later on came the curtains which go down as the tackiest hairstyle ever. Parted down the middle and combed to the sides. I wasn’t the only one because my mates were rocking the same look. But that’s still no excuse. When I finished school I went to work in a salon. By this point you’d think my hair game got stronger but I’m not so sure it did. At the time I thought all of my hair styles were amazing but when I look back I shudder. I have David Beckham to thank for the mohican. Yep, I really went there.

A modern take on 50’s barbering…

Lately I have gone back to an often repeated style that works for me. I like to call it a modern take on a 50’s style. It’s basically a short back and sides, longer on top with length in the front. This way I can sculpt the front and get a bit of height whilst still looking neat and tidy. My hair is naturally quite wavy which means I have good and bad days. It can go quite fluffy so I need the right products to hold it in place.

The glue that holds it all together…

I’m currently using some cool products from a few different brands. Reseed is a line that focuses on hair loss and they have ranges for men and women. Touch wood my hair doesn’t seem to be going anywhere but these can also be used as a precaution. The shampoo, conditioner and serum contain ingredients to nourish the scalp. When I use all three my hair is super bouncy which makes it easier to style. Liquid wax by KMS is what I use to sculpt my hair into shape. The wax is actually like a very thick cream and it’s not to oily or sticky. To hold everything in place I finish with the humidity blocking hairspray by John Frieda men. It leaves a soft hold so I can still push my fingers through it without getting stuck.
