EVOLVE YOUR STYLE SUSTAINABLY

I’m on a fashion frenzy at the moment. I can’t stop thinking about outfits and I’m blaming it on this blog! Whilst I’m evolving my sense of style I’m still conscious of waste and the importance of investment pieces vs throw away fashion. As a blogger there can be a pressure to constantly wear something new. With that in mind I’m trying to rework individual pieces to create different looks without always buying something new – unless I decide it’s a worthy addition. Cultivating your own sense of style is a confidence booster but a passion for fashion can leave you with piles of clothes that have hardly been worn. In today’s post I’m taking this three piece outfit and explaining the place each item has in my wardrobe.

The Keepers. The classic style of these brown winter boot’s make them a solid investment. You can take a style like this in black or brown which I’m sure will look good with varying shades of denim jeans in years to come. Plus, they are nice and warm with rubber soles that should stop me slipping and falling on my arse in the snow.

I don’t know about you but I love a good stripe. This long sleeve sweater in navy and white is a wardrobe staple that might not last years but can be worn again and again without offending anyone. It’s a versatile piece that can be paired with jeans for an everyday look or taken up a notch when combined with a casual suit or a pair of chino’s.

The trend driven seasonal piece. This would be the dad jeans that I’m really into right now. Denim will always be in style but in this case the higher waist and distinctive cut with the vintage blue might not be something I’ll want to wear next year. Because of this I’m making the most of them and I shopped hard to find the right style at a good price. They also look good with black boots or a nice pair of sneakers like I wore in this recent post here.

I’m with you there! I do believe in sustainability but I also know the struggles with fashion blogging and the constant need to put out something new on the world. At the end of the day, I just stick to some staples and get a couple new pieces from time to time and just try to reinvent the looks with the pieces I have!
