Career juggling in 2 countries plus climate change and LGBTQ+ issues.
It’s Boxing Day and I’m currently sitting in bed. The last couple of days have been really nice and I’m feeling relaxed but also motivated. I’ve been eating, drinking a bit, watching loads of movies and not much else tbh. All this chilling out has got me thinking about 2018 and I’m excited for what’s to come. 2017 has been a year of growth and I’m happy to end it having ironed out some of the creases in my life. I’ve managed to create a balance amongst my careers which I’ve been trying to do for the last few years. In addition the blog has helped me to develop a better understanding of who I am and where I’m going. All in all things are really good and I’m feeling pretty darn grateful.
A few highlights from 2017…
Living in two countries with three careers might sounds crazy. For me it’s a process I’m adjusting to and I think I love it. I started as a hair colourist in London before launching a line of nail lacquer with my boyfriend in Germany. Then came the blog which started as a hobby and through some kind of miracle also became my career. From this month I started dividing each month living between London and Germany. Juggling three careers gives me the perfect balance. Being able to constantly move from one thing to the next means I never ever get bored and I feel very lucky.
LGBTQ+ & Environmental Issues have become important to me. This year I started dedicating blog posts to sustainability and climate change. These issues are so important to me that I want to cover more on these topics in the new year. After reading the new online platform Them! I’ve realised that I’m living in a bubble and it’s time to wake up and look around. Whilst I’m lucky enough to live a life that’s generally safe and free of prejudice, many LGBTQ+ men and women are vulnerable and need our help. If you have any ideas or suggestions on this then I’d love to hear from you.
